00 Trans Am Michigan
Made a 10 hour round trip to get this car but it was worth every minute, even the Chicago traffic. I assumed it was a WS6 but after I picked it up and started digging in a little bit I realized it wasn't. It has the SLP loudmouth exhaust and lid I believe it's called, and the 3.23 gears but it doesn't have the suspension upgrades. Somebody even put the WS6 badge on it. I should have done a little bit more research beforehand but lesson learned. I'm still happy as can be with the car.
As soon as I can get the Trans Am door badges and an SLP badge for the rear I'll be taking the WS6 badge off of there. Hopefully it doesn't leave too much of a residue or anything.
If anybody can tell me anything about the car just by seeing the pics please enlighten me but I'm pretty sure I understand what I have now.

I'd be calling the dealer, If they sold you an imitation WS.6.. So there is no WS6 code on the drivers door rpo sticker? Where you from in MI? Check out www.mifbody.com Michigan based fbody site, join up!

Thanks for the advice but it never actually said WS.6 in the ad and there is no WS6 on the sticker. I don't think I'd have anything to go back on them for. It was my mistake for assuming and not double checking it. As far as I can tell one of the previous owners did the upgrades at some point and then traded it in towards something. This wasn't a Pontiac dealer so I really should have been watching a little closer. Oh well, it's still a blast to drive.
I'll check out that site too, thanks. I'm from Flushing by the way, just outside of Flint.

Looks like a clean ride! Are you sure it's not a factory ws6? Looks like its an oem hood, its got the raised lower airbox, the badge and the wheels look to be 17's... Do the wheels have ws6 center caps? does it have a power steering cooler off the radiator return hose? Has it ever been in an accident, if it has the driver door my have been replaced with a regular t/a door?

Thanks for the compliment, the carfax came back 100% clean so I don't believe it's had an accident. I couldn't find any evidence of one either, besides a couple of interior smudges it's very clean. The VIN on the door matches the one on the dash so I don't think it's been replaced. If it has then they replaced the stickers and it seems like they would have the correct information on them. The center caps are plain Pontiac emblems. They are 17's with some BFGoodrich 275/40/17's. Good call by the way. I could not find a power steering cooler though, to be honest I wasn't completely sure what I was looking for but I didn't see anything coming off the return hose.
One of the other reasons I believe it's a base Trans Am with a few mods is the suspension code. FE2 which I believe is the base suspension.

Cool sounds like you got it figured out, either way looks like the previous owner did a pretty good job of making it a clone from the outside so if your looking for a drag car and end up removing the front sway bar like most do it wont matter and the p/s cooler wont be necessary...

Thanks everybody, it has the M30 code which is the 4L60E. I'll be making it to a couple car shows just to meet some people and see some cooler cars. The only major interior defect is the drivers side panel crack is all the way to the leather, probably 3 or 4 inches long. Lot's of nice birds in the area by the sounds of it, looking forward to seeing em!
