Default Need opinions on this c6 z06 scenario

Found a 2006 c6 z06 in the mid $30k price range but it has approx 80k miles on it.. the guy tells me it's primarily highway miles... if the carfax proved clean and it checked out fine mechanically, how many of you guys would even consider it ?? I'm actually in the market for a standard c6 vette but the thought of possibly acquiring a c6 z06 for this kinda price is quite tempting.. of course I wanted to ask the knowledge on the board for their valued input.

Thanks

If it checks out...go for it man. May be the highest mileage C6Z out there! Nothing wrong with high mileage cars if taken care of.

Well man, sounds like a potentially good deal. Have you seen the car yet, drove it ?

At any rate money talks and Bull$hit walks. Plop down a bag in front of the man filled with money and I bet you get it cheaper then he's willing to let it go for. Cash in hand makes people do things they wouldn't normally do. Certified cashiers checks are nice, but cash is better. The smell of money is intoxicating, I think thats why you might be able to steal this car for a very good deal if you go with cash. I've done cash buys before and got what I was buying for a lot less.

Thanks for all the feedback fellas I appreciate it ! I have not seen the car in person yet (only pictures) as it's a ways away from me... If I do decide to go see it after getting some more information, it'll be with intent to buy and with a bunch of $ for sure allngn_c5.. you're right about that !

Well i've given it a lot of thought and have decided to pass on it.. I will own a c6 z06 one day but just not right now.. I've decided to go with my original plan (even before the c6 vette) and get a c5 z06.. coincidently I just got back a little earlier from looking at an 03 millenium yellow one that I found a guy selling in my own damn town ! It has just over 23k miles on it and is in immaculate condition.. the interior looks brand new.. only mod is borla exhaust.. I'm planning to purchase it so if all goes accordlingly I hope to be in it by this weekend ! I'll post pictures when I do get it as long as everything goes as it should.

abazaba410, below is the link to that c6 z06 if you're interested man.. the guy told me it was owned by an executive who primarily drove it highway miles.. he said it has practically new back tires (only about 1000 miles on them and has about 75% tread on the fronts).. he told me he'd take $35,500 out the door for it... good luck if you decide to pursue.

$35K is a damn good price for this car. Just get the VIN# and check the service history at a dealership before pulling the trigger. I'd take this over a C5Z any day (and I did ).

Don't get me wrong.. It was very tempting but 82k miles is a lot for a 3yr old car.. I know it's a c6 z06 but I also know i'd wanna drive the crap out of it and in a year i'd have 90k+ miles on it.. I was just concerned about resale with that many miles and of course things starting to go wrong as the miles accumlated.

I'm getting my c5 z06 tomorrow and it's friggin' cherry.. I'll post pics of it when I get it !
