Default Need help with my car

I went to the track last night hoping for better times out of my 98 trans am 6 speed.. The car used to run on motor low 12.20s on motor at 115 mph an 11.00 128 mph on spray. That was with a 10 bolt with 3.73 an on a 275/50/15 m/t drag radials..I now have a 9in with 3.89 with a spool an 35 spline axles an was talked in to a set of 28/12.5/15 M&H cheater slicks..The car last night would only run 12.54 at 111.00 mph an 11.20 on spray at 122 mph ????
are the tires to big does any one have a idea about what my gear is with this setup ??? I am thinking I am to tall geared now..I beleave I need to go back to a 26in tall tire..
The car has a 224 comp cam,headers,ls6 intake,an a custom tune,150 shot nos.. Please if anyone can Help ..Thank you

Get a 26 inch tall tire, you got too much tire and not enough gear.

The nine inch is gonna slow you down some also. More weight and sucks up more power than a stock 10 bolt.

If you stepped out for a nine inch, put some slicks on that beotch and drive it like it owes you money.

"Another difference between the two rearends is that the 9-inch locates its pinion gear lower on the ring gear to improve tooth contact. This strengthens the rearend assembly but at the cost of approximately 2 to 3 percent loss of power to drive the gears compared to a 12-bolt."

That was from a comparison to a 12 bolt but you get the idea...

so i should expect to lose maybe 1to2 mph but not 4 to 6 right?? On spray it crossed the traps at only 5400 rpms I shift the car at 6500 an on motor i was only about a car to a car in a half from the finish line when I shift to fourth so to me it feels like I am to tall geared now with the 28in tires
