Default Every now and then car dies but cranks back...

My car started just dieing on me every now then here lately and it does it like every 2 days. I'll be at a stop light and it will stumble at idle then die but cranks right back up. Last night i was cruising and it just died all at once no stumble nothing just shut off,i pulled over, put it in park, turned the key and it fired right back up. Whats the deal?Anybody know?

Could be a couple things.

A failing Crank Shaft Position sensor will do that....and you will NOT get an SES light until it fails completely.

A terribly dirty fuel filter will stall the engine at low rpms and at idle. But for it just to start all of a sudden doesn't really point to that.

My car is a 1994 Z28. Do the 94 Z's have a crank pos sensor?

I had my LS1 stalling out randomly at times 2 years ago.

Tunred out to be the sencondary Positive termanal post, on the LS1's that is on the Drivers side. I believe its on the Passangers side in the LS1 models.

Anyway, that nut was just loose enough to allow those wires to rub, get hold and freak out my electrical system. Once I found the problem, I had to fix some of the wires that were almost burned through.

Then I tightened that nut down with locktite. Been A+ ever since.
