Default Car RPM zero and then working again

Driving the car today and saw a puff of brown smoke when i got on it a little. I noticed that the car was bucking a bit and the RPM's sometimes went to Zero and then after 1 min it would work properly. I ran the car for about 5 mins on the highway with it bucking every now and then. The car finally died out and then I was able to start it after about 30 secs, but decided I better call the tow company.

Any ideas? I haven't looked into it since it is 11 pm, but I am thinking crank sensor?

Thanks

would have to agree with crank sensor, possibly cam sensor but i dont think that the cam sensor would cause a problem while the engine is running. ive only heard the cam sensor causing problem at startup.

Scanned it last night and it is the Crank sensor. Time for some fun.
