Seems like I've seen them on a few cars and they all look the same. Looks like something that could be bought. Dunno though...

Chris

EDIT: Nope, can't buy it, he made it. His screen name is bboyferal
Here's a link to how he did it. Page 3

I'm doing this with my car soon. Currently the bumper is cut out where the plate would sit to make the intercooler function, but 4 tabs were left to mount a tag as necessary. I bought a beat up used one off a silver car for $20 that I'm gonna trim the center out of, glue in some trash can mesh from the back, and primer/paint. I'll post pics in a few weeks when I finish the project

I just started on mine. I'm just trying to make one and see if it helps keep the car cooler in this hot *** Houston weather. I had cut it about a week ago and was looking for some nice mesh but I couldn't find anything I liked. Then it dawned on me...the damn garbage can haha.

Done cutting it. I'll just put some epoxy all along the edge to hold it in place.

This is just awesome. I think if you painted the screed body color it'd be even better. Like a stealth license plate, haahah.

I had thought about just using an overlay as a stencil, then painting the screen black or body color.. then once removing the stencil, the bird would be the original color as screen. or if you wanted to get complicated, reversing the stencil...

Carlos what did you use to cut that plate?? love the trash can idea.... that's the style mesh i had in mind.. please post pics of finished product

Thanks guys for the input..

You could cut each piece of bird out of filler then use the painted stencil to know where to glue each piece on screen. Not sure how the raised would look tho. Plz post pics when you do your's. Thanks

I used metal/tin snips that I had picked up at Home Depot. I'm waiting on the epoxy to cure. Once it's all dry I'm going to have the whole thing painted white. I picked up the filler plate used and it had a lot of scratches on it so it needs repainting.

i have access to a water jets. so i thought about making my own "screen" with bird on it. then no raised part. it will cost money but will look like money when it is done.
