Default please help

very basic but how do i time a 91 chevy pick up TBI? i understand the DTC but how do i get the oil pump to line up with #1? thanks a head of time.

As in line the oil pump shaft up with the distributor? I use a long flat head to get it to line up so that when i stab the dist it spins into place. You will just have to try it. Once you get it down it is no big deal.

If you are lucky, you can line the dist up with #1 and bump the engine over until the dist drops into place also. It worked for my on my Pontiac motor a couple of weeks ago.

Just put the dist. in where it needs to be and get someone to hold some pressure down on the cap and bump the motor over slowly. A few bumps and it should slid right down.

Done it that way 1,000 times.
