Car is misfiring like a mother f***er!!!
Just did a spark plug/wire change on my car and used NGK iridium plugs for the replacement plug. After i changed the plugs i started the car with the oem wires installed and the car started to misfire. I then changed the wires to see if it would stop the misfire and lo and behold it began to misfire "less" as in the car wasn't "hickuping" as much. Then i took it to a shop to see if i could resolve this problem, and they told me cylinders 3 and 4 were the culprits. However, they swapped plugs from 3and 4 to 8,7 and it still misfired in 3,4. So my question is HOW THE HELL DO I GET THIS FREAKING CAR TO STOP MISFIRING??? Any help/suggestions are highly appreciated. thank you

I just took a set of iridium plugs out of a friends ls1 that had a miss on cylinders 4 and 8 and he had changed the plugs on those same cylinders before he called me.I replaced them with a set of NGK tr55's and the miss is gone now.

well for starters you shouldnt waste your money on iridium plugs unless your wanting maximum fuel economy, and i think they burn to hot anyways. change your coils around also see if that changes anything. i would stick with the tr55s you will have to change them more frequent but worth it in the end.

I've never had a problem with a Stock plug, ac delco. NGK are good though, wierd problem.
u should always run same plug in all cyclinder, are u sure Plug Gap is right?

Guys, I'm running Delco Iridium replacement plugs in both my LS1 and my truck's 4.8L engine for over 30K miles and 3 years now with no problems whatsoever. They may not be optimum performance pieces, but they're not duds either.
I bought 16 of them at the dealer, measured gaps and gave the LS1 the 8 best...threw the rest in the truck.
Given that the problem didn't follow the plugs when they were moved, it's likely either the new wires (whip out the Ohm-meter and check them) or something else requiring further diagnostics.

already changed wires to msd, thanks though. as for the misfiring problem, i've narrowed it down to cylinders 3 and 4. I have regapped both to 0.040 just like the others and i still get misfires in both 3,4. So 2morrow im going to try and change the coil packs on the two cylinders and see what happens. I hope this works...if not i will swith to the tr55's or ac delco for all 8 cyl as many of you have suggested...

Sorry i was not more clear,i took it that saying a set was 8.All 8 were replaced with the tr55's.It's alway's a good practice to back up to when the concern started,was it ok before the plugs were installed?

Not knocking iridium plugs,good low maintenance plugs that maintain gap,just happened to be the problem with this car,fuel tables,timing,etc were moved around a good bit on this car and it did not run well with them

yea it ran fine before i changed the plugs, i still havn't had time to work on it but hopefully i'll get time tommorow...maybe a dumb question but do you know if its ok to drive the car around (gently of course)?? as it is my only way of getting from a to b.

The ole' sprak plug issue once again.
Some cars will not work with some brand plugs...don't ask me why but its a fact. Bosch plugs in my engine...it will hardly idle, much less be able to drive it away. Pull them out and put in NGK plugs in...perfect.

Make sure those spark plug wires (3 and 4) are not touching the exhaust manifold pipes at all. That will cause misfires.
If that does nothing:

C'mon dude, change your panties, fix it, and resume enjoying your car.
I mean, really. It was running fine, you changed plugs and wires, and then it wasn't running fine. Even your average mouth-breather can conclude the right next step is to back-out the change you just made without a dozen posts about it.
