Default Degreeing a cam without cyl. heads off?

Hello,

I am wondering how one could accurately degree in a cam
without taking off the cyl. heads? Any ideas?

Thanks,

Gert

Yes you can you'll need a screw in type TDC piston stop that screws into the sparkplug hole.

I suppose a screw in type piston stop or
a modified spark plug with dial gauge
would work as well if such a tool existed?

Yes on either tool, just keep in mind you need to consult cam manufacturer if you want to use intake centerline method because LS1 cams can have Assymetrical design to lobes.
