Spec or Monster?
My Firehawk is going to need a clutch soon. Im looking to get the Spec Stage 3 or the Monster 3 with a light weight flywheel also. Iv heard good about both just wanting more thoughts..Its not a race car just a toy. Do I need to replace the slave when I do a clutch? 60,000 Miles, No leaks..No a daily driver..

What are you planning to do with the car? Also, what kind of torque do you plan to make? I ask because we have recently released our Super-Single 12" clutch kits for the LS1 application and these kits provide great capacity and drivability. This may mean that you don't inherently need a stage 3...and that you could subsequently use a lesser stage to fit your needs. Of course the stage 3 is a great option I just want to insure that it is what you both want and need. Let me know. Thanks,

With your planned use in mind a Stage 3 may be a bit agrressive. It's pucked disc design means that it will have a rather quick engagement and that it will also be more prone to chatter. That being said if you want smoother actuation and good capacity to boot a stage 2+ would be great. It is rated to 782lb.-ft and having driven one 62-miles round trip in my last car I can tell you from experience that it is easy to deal with on a daily basis. Let me know if you have any further questions and I will be happy to assist you further. Thanks,

Monster Level 5 here. Just do it the right way the first time and buy a clutch that will hold way more than what you need. My car is a daily driver and the Level 5 is perfectly fine. I had a Stage 2+ SPEC and it just didn't feel right even though I was only making 400 wheel, The Monster grabs and holds way better. I'm also really safe if I want to throw Nitrous at it. I'm sure SPEC has a good product, but with my experience Monster is better.

I had a spec stage 3 in mine and it was a good clutch. I ordered a 12" Diamond stage 3 clutch from Jason at TDP and is freaking awesome. Ill run them from here on out without question. Give Jason over at TDP a call 817-300-6840

I think I like Monsters stuff from what Im reading. Im going to do the 15lb flywheel at the same time. I totaly agree that go bigger just in case..Im sure that It will get at least a 150 shot before to long to keep up..

If you are going to go bigger and still want drivability then the stage 3+ would be a great option (this is mentioned above). It is still very drivable and has nearly 1000lb.-ft capacity. I think that most that have driven a Stage 3+ would agree that this is a no brainer. Let me know if you have any further questions. Thanks,

If in need of a Monster, I can get you squared away.
Level 3 is our most popular setup, by far and away, and even though it is a puck design disc, and you will get some chatter during break in, it will all but go away once break in is finished. If some pops back up after the fact, it is simply because you were to easy on teh clutch...go beat on it and call it a day!
Let me know...thanks

No, you don't HAVE to have teh lightweight fly...the standard fly is actually our best selling flywheell, with either higher HP cars or lighter cars going with lightweight fly.
I would say that roughly 60-70% of clutches I sell, people elect the Standard fly.
What I tell people is this:
Heavy car (over 3500-3600) pounds, go standard
Lower HP (500 and under) go standard
Track/sticky tires, nominal HP, go standard
If High HP, 600 or more, on the street...go lightweight (will help you hook up better on street)
Or if you have a real light car, and good power, you can go lightweight.
Matter of weight, HP, and intended use (DD, weekend, track only, etc...)
