Heads for my setup?
I need suggestions for heads given my setup. This is for a 98 C5 6 speed. I'd like to stay around $1,500 or less. I'm looking for power under already have spings/pushrods. Whats the next step up from LS6 heads? Patriot, PRC? Should I just get the LS6 heads? Also, my friend doing the install has LS7 lifters, is there any benefit of using these in my car?

I hade same setup and I went with PRC stg2.5 5.3l heads. My car pulled great with the 228 cam but made a tremendous improvement with the heads, I had it for a couple years and just built a forged motor and have since put those heads in new motor with MS3 cam. You can use the 228 cam and 5.3 heads and stock head gasket thickness with no clearence issues. Personally I think the 228R, the 231/237, and the MS3 cam are all great canadites for the PRC 5.3 heads.
