Question steering wheel swap

I'm trying to figure out how to swap steering wheels between brands. Let's say something like a factory Subaru steering wheel into an f-body.

Is is just a matter of hubs matching and simple wiring? Do airbag wires have specific voltage to match? I don't want to make everything physically match up only to deploy an air bag on startup.

Ok, can anybody tell me how the wires for an airbag work?

Is there a specific voltage for the system to detect the airbag and a higher signal sent to deploy?

Nothing for interbrand swaps. How about within the same brand? Subaru and GM work together pretty closely but if that isn't enough I'll go 100% bowtie.

I'm looking for a thick wheel with a small radius, preferably 4 spokes.

The splines on the shafts are completely different. You'll need to figure out how to adapt the shaft to the steering wheel (or vise versa). The airbag/radio controls won't work if it's a non-GM (f-body/early grand am/truck) wheel.

Post pictures if you can find them. That sounds pretty cool.
