I just had to replace the power steering pump on my wife's 2005 GXP and thought I could add some tech to this thread. I was able to remove the belt and reinstall using a hose clamp around the spring. The clamp I used was 16" around the spring to start (belt still on) and tightened to 15" (loose enough to easily remove the belt at the smooth idler. With the correct clamp, the belt can be removed in less than 5 minutes. It takes longer to jack up the car than to remove the belt. I hope this saves someone a few hours.
