Red face So apparently I've been lying to you guys...

So in the process of brainstorming a way to achieve more belt wrap on my setup I've been researching some other pulley setups. I wasn't completely sure I was getting belt slip, but I figured more belt wrap couldnt at all hurt. I thought I should probably be making more than 13psi from my F1 with the 7.65/3.7 combo I'm currently running. I was doing a little digging around in the attic tonight because I remember that when I bought my 8 rib setup, it came with 2 different sized idler pulleys. I've got an idea on how to achieve a little more wrap, but I'll save that for another thread..

Anyways, I finally found the other idler pulley, and in the ziplock bag along with it was my other head unit pulley (which I believed was a 3.4). I looked at the head unit pulley, and it was stamped 3.7 on it. I really started to worry at that point because I thought maybe I had the 3.4 installed now, and if that was the case, I'd really have been bummed about only 13psi because that would mean that I'm already maxing out the F1. Well, I looked at my handy whiteboard I have in my garage, and I have 2 belt sizes written on it for reference. 39.2" for 3.7/3.4 and 41.5" for 4.25. I then realized that I definitely had the bigger 41.5" belt on because I had 2 other 39.2" belts and gave one to 'Trust' one night at the track. I grabbed my flashlight and verified that, indeed, I am running a 4.25 pulley right now NOT a 3.7. I don't even have the 3.4 pulley anymore. I then remembered I left the 3.4 on my old P1 when I traded it for my current F1 (which had the 3.7 on it). I removed the 3.7 when I acquired the F1 and put my old 4.25 on it to slow it down on my previous setup because it was only a 346. It made 15+psi with 7.65/4.25 combo. Now that I'm running a few more cubes with the 370, the 13psi I'm seeing doesnt really seem so bad now that I consider the 4.25 pulley thats on there currently.

I just got done going back thru my old threads editing them so the info is hopefully all correct now lol

Shows how close I read, I thought you had a D1SC.

7.65/4.25 is still up there pretty good if you have a 5.4 step up F1, I used to run a 7.25/4.25 on the F1A most of the time.

Its actually an older F1 unit with 5.0 stepup ratio. Can't complain tho, it had very low miles on it when I got it, and I only gave $1000 + my old P1SC for it. Figured that was a better deal than paying the $1500 to have procharger upgrade the internals of my P1SC to make it a D1SC.

Nothing wrong with the 5.0 step up F1s, those were made to be NMRA legal if i remember. 3.7 might still be pushing it with a 7.65, but it will most likely slip anyhow.

Yea, hopefully my little plan to increase belt wrap will work out and help with that. Time will tell
