Cam Question?

I like it alot now that I can drive it again. I drove it for about 3 miles tuned and then the rocker bolt broke and thats all I got to drive it. Now with the 799 heads drive ability just needs some small tweaking from the tuner. The cam is super choppy/loud, but I was not really impressed power wise with cam only, we shall see with the heads/cam combo. I haven't gone WOT with the new heads and wont' until I get everything tweaked again, I am weird about it like that.

shoot, you ought to be good to go then. If you're spending that much money, may as well get the 243s CNCed or something. I wouldn't recommend milling on those heads with stock pistons and that camshaft.

Is your car an A4 or M6 and what kind of power did you make cam only?

M6, it made 391 through a Mustang Dyno and just recently with the 799/243 heads, it made 417 with a slipping clutch

The threads for the rocker bolt were damaged, me changing heads was my fault, not in any which way shape or form, the large camshafts fault. I forced the bolt to go in there knowing the threads were already damaged. So you can definitely keep your stock heads.

the only difference b/w the two dyno numbers is the 799 heads. Same TB, intake, exhaust, etc. my bolt ons include MID length headers, ORY, Borla CB, stock pulleys, LS6 intake, Ported TB. hope this clears some confusion.
The heads were worth it. The heads cost me $350, but needed new gaskets and bolts and went ahead and did new lifters and shorter PRs, so it was roughly ~$850.00 for the new heads and what not. To some thats a tad expensive for stock heads, but I didn't have any more funds available to have the ported or anything. Nonetheless, that 850 add ~26 rwhp and ~10rwtq at 3500+ RPMs and no loss down low, so yea they were worth it.
