Help me decide??Matte Black or Gloss Black berger panel??
Okay I am not sure if I want to do a gloss black or a matte black on my car. I have seen lots of pewter cars with both i'm just not sure which one I like better. My hood is painted gloss black. If anyone has pics like my car post them so I can see it.
Here is a couple pics:

NEITHER. do a satin finish. matte black is going to look like **** man. in case you havent seen or touched matte black, its like a black vehicle from 1962 sitting in the sun the whole time. yuck.

is satin in between a flat and gloss??
do you have to put a clear over it for the gloss or what? I'm not a painter so I have no idea. also will the stock SS emblems show up enough on the black panel or would I need to buy new ones??
i'm leaning towards the gloss black just because my hood will match it.

i say no berger panel at all. to me its way too over done. the more i see people doing this to their cars the more it makes me not want to do it to mine. just keep the black lettering and nightshade your tails, third BL, sidemarkers, corners and whistler HL's if you are feeling adventurous. but thats just my .02

With that said, i cant say which type, but what i used was dupli-color, universal black auto touch up paint, with the dupli-color clear coat on top. looks great. not glossy, yet not cheap looking like flat or matte (no offense to anyone who like the "true" berger, flat black, but i dont like that) i'd highly recommend, this paint. it looks great on the CETA mod i did on my T/A and im in the process of doing a berger panel for my brothers gun metal camaro right now.

the berger panel is NOT way overdone. but you DO see it A LOT on these sites that are dedicated to showing of OUR kind of cars. think about it, there are like 150K members on the site from around the country, and even internationally...which is practically nobody on a nationwide basis. hell, theres like 600K people in my city, which is a small city. so just because a lot of people have them here, how many times during your daily drives do you see people with the beger mod, or the CETA mod for T/A's? the same goes for vette rims on f-body's. we may see A LOT of people with these things on forums like this, but in general, you NEVER really see people with these things done to their cars.

BUT if i were to do it i would keep it true to the original style.
btw didnt mean to hijack or start a rant.
