Default Alternative fuel engine build??

Replacing a worn TBI 350 in my crawler with a new to me low miles 03 LQ9... I'm going to run propane for fuel , any recommendations for a cam profile taking into consideration the lower BTU's(-15%) and high octane(117) of LP?

A large portion of the negative effects of the lower BTU's can be offset buy taking advantage of the high octane and running higher compression than a comparable gasoline engine. I do know LP engines like lots of timing and long durations..."valve on seat" time promotes cooling.

It has stock 317's that I'm planning on upgrading with the appropriate springs/P-rods/etc. I was also going to do a LS2 timing set with the cam install.

I'm running a MSD 6010 and Edelbrock Performer manifold with LP mixer capable of supporting 400hp continuous and upto 650 for short (20 seconds) bursts. I'm also running a set of slightly modified ( for clearance) long tube Pacesetter f-body headers.

Whats it take to get 11-1 compression with a LQ9 ...swap out the heads ? mill the 317's?

How much of a head mill before the intake needs to be machined?

When does PTV clearance come into play?

Looking to make good strong power throughout .. no need for anything above 6K.

I know it's different from most "which cams" questions but it's worth a try.

Thanks Jeff
