which # rocker arms are you guys using, the yt6645?
do they use shims for the preload, or pushrod length changing

The shims are not for preload, they are for proper valvetrain geometry.

Most guys looking for a stock replacement will use the non-adjustable #6645 rocker arms. Since they are non-adjustable, preload will be set by pushrod length. We have the rockers on the shelf if you need a set! Let us know if you have any other questions!

they come with shims, but I found that on milled aftermarket heads with thinner gaskets that they needed shimmed more than the .048 shim they came with to get the correct wipe pattern. If your running stock lifters, they are pretty forgiving as far as preload. I run Comp r lifters which basically require adjustable valve train or a really **** patient person to set up shaft rockers by adjusting pr length at varying shim heights.

I would check, there is a thread floating around by vettenuts that details his installation of YT's. It may be linked over to a thread on the corvetteforum. I think I put a link up to the thread as well.

Look at the topic for our posts and it will get you the information. His post on the corvette forum has picts and is super detailed.
