Love my UUC, it is exactly the same as the Katech except the Katech has a threaded top and UUC is notched for the factory ****.

I bought a B&M shifter and love it as well. I used foam that goes around copper plumbing pipes and cut and put it around the shifter. It knocked a ton of noise down and I cant tell a difference noise wise over the stock shifter.

I have a Katech one. I like it, but it does make more noise than the stocker.

I love my Katech w/ UUC bushings. I do not notice the noise, at all. Threaded MOMO ball makes it feel even shorter.

I installed a B & M on mine. Wish I would have done it sooner. Great mod.

I use to sell the B&M shifter until they discontinued it. Has anyone been able to buy one lately? Bob

I've only seen them on ebay from Atlanticspeed Bob. But even that's been a while now.

I bought my B&M from Atlantic Speed about a month ago or so. I can't make a comparison between the others since this is the only one I have ever driven. Don't forget to buy the UUC bushings from Luke.

I know its not one of the ones listed in your review, but I've owned both a Pro 5.0 and (currently) a B&M Ripper for my SS, and I prefer the B&M all the way.

They both also have a two-piece shaft with a silicone damper to help isolate transmission noise, but the Katech is more than $100 cheaper at the regular everyday price. Jason will occasionally have them on sale at a substantial discount.

Kind of like the difference between a Beretta 92 and a Taurus 92, both have quality workmanship, work equally well, and have excellent durability, but the Taurus is less expensive.

IMO, Stock C6 shifter>any V1 aftermarket shifter----so why did they make our's so shiatty, maybe it was the uncle of the guy who planned/designed our rear-ends. I am on a roll today,,,

I think a lot of the problem lies in our shift linkage and not the shifter itself.

Your hand is absorbing the vibrations (noise) similar to putting dynamat on it.

My UUC shifter has more play when engaged as opposed to my C6 when in neutral---I am on an anti-V1 campaign, as tired of clunk, actually clunks, sloppy gearbox and POS rear-end. Damn good thing I love my V or else it would be gone.

I've driven a V with a UUC and have a B&M. Was louder at first, but now is quiet.

Both are a million miles better than the stock shifter.

I have UUC and is the best mod ever! I can't compare to anything but stock and it is 300% improvement. I went through the same decision making process and chose UUC shifter and bushings. I get no noise at all.
