Yes you will to awnser all the questions you will have. If you are not sure how to transfer music, are you sure you want to break into your pcm?

Wrong section lol. Tunes in this case means modified parameters in the PCM, not music tunes.

OP - You really should have internet access on the laptop (preferably wireless) so you update the software which is always done via downloads the internet. I would look into one of the netbooks out there at a great price.

Use a USB memory stick. This makes it easy to transfer files from your internet enabled PC to your laptop.

its not a reqiurment to have the net, but makes it a HELL of a lot easier. youre also going to need a wideband, if you dant and ask a question. youll almost ALWAYS get the response and a question as to why you dont have one.

might also start saving up for the at home begginers course of the tuners school.

You don't need the internet to tune the car but you will need it
if you want the latest release of the software and drivers.

EFILive will connect to the USB port of your PC/laptop.
Any WBO2 with a 5v output will work,
the V2 supports serial connection as well as analog.
The manual can be downloaded here.
