Nostalgia looking built LS2 in 69 Camaro
I got my 355/turbo 350 tranny setup sold so it’s time to start looking forward to my LS2 swap. I got my AFR 205s getting reworked at the machine shop. My LS2 is a brand new shortblock. Still have my ARP head studs, yella terra UL rockers, etc so I should have a good start.
I still have all the FAST 90/90 equipment from my last car, but I want to go for a nostalgia look for this car IF I CAN FIT IT. I would like to do a Victor Jr with a 4150 or 4500 style TB (accufab or edelbrock) with a chrome air cleaner up top. Then run a real clean fuel rail and harness to them. Coil packs will be hidden. Valve covers will be the tough looking units with Chevrolet across them. Car will be SD tuned.
Then I’d like to have at least 1-3/4” LT headers, preferrably 1-7/8” though. And I’d like to do that with the stock steering box. What headers will clear with the right motor mounts that will still allow me enough room to shut the SS hood? Is it possible?

Are the BRP engine mounts and headers a good fit? Do you have 1-7/8"? Kind of a pricey coated header. I ordered my Kooks SS headers new for about the same price for my gen 4. Do you have any more pics of the headers sliding past the steering box? Nice looking setup under the hood. I think it might be time for a 4150 TB and fuel injection though

i do not have the long tubes but the ones that i have fit perfect and do not come close to my ws6 steering box. i wish i would of got the longtubes though for the performance gain. ls motors like long tube headers
i think these are 1 3/4 headers

Does anybody else have any other known combos that will work under the hood with the carb style intake, decent flowing LT headers and stock steering box? I'm all ears. Thanks in advance! I can't wait to make a SBC looking motor that still runs like an LS

I have a 2nd gen with the BRP motor mounts, I am using a Manuel steering box. I think u could use the factory box without any clearence problems if your doing a power steering unit.
