Default TB Idle hole for 346 vs. 388?

it takes "X" size of a hole for a 346 with a TR224 to idle at 800RPM.....

if that same engine is replaced with a 388 all bore short block and the same TR224 is used, will the idle hole be the same ("X"), smaller ("X" - __), or larger ("X" + __)?

With 400rwhp you just need a little programing. It's very easy to get much larger cams to idle without drilling a hole so why would you drill?

re-read what I wrote.....

I'm going to be pulling the motor and resleeving the block (Darton Wets) to make a 388 all bore. When the motor goes back in, it will have the same heads (have stg 3s) and will run the TR224 for a while (sleeper cam).

I want to know (just wondering) if the hole would need to be drilled to supply the larger CI at idle (would think so).

No, the hole will not need to be drilled.

If you already have cam tuning though, you will have to back down *slightly* on the IAC tables.

Work. Occasionally, I get dragged away for a couple months at a time doing the gas turbine bit.

I've been busy putting together my custom D1 setup as well.

Thanks for the welcome back
