v8 swap

To do it properly you will need pretty much a whole v8 car to swap parts from. Here are a few links I found in a quick search:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversio...ap-w-pics.html
http://www.tacreationsusa.com/3_4_3_8_v6_to_ls1.htm
https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversio...-ls1-swap.html (this is an lt1 to ls1 swap, but it's about the same really)
Try searching and reading in the swap and hybrids forum as there's plenty of info about this swap there. You just need to search for it.

Yeah. It's definitely not a bolt in and go type of swap. For the average person it would be cheaper to sell the v6 car and buy one with a LS1 in it already. You can cut corners here and there and modify some stuff to work, but if are not a fairly experienced mechanic or good with wiring diagrams then this swap isn't for you.

That makes no sence at all, it'll cost u more in the long run. After you get done picking up the Ls1 engine, tranny, wiring harness, brakes, etc, etc plus the LT1 car you might as well pick up the LS car...they arent that much more. Why make more work for yourself and spend more money in the process....You can find a LS1 car for 4-5 k no problem.

If you do NOT have a donor car, it will take time and money. I didn't have a donor car, so what I did was I just started buying a few parts a month, from here on ls1tech, from ebay, from the aftermarket. Asked a ton of questions.
It took me a reeeeeally long time without a donor car.

I got a Moroso LT1 CAI and a 1LE elbow, and used a rubber piece from Ace Hardware. I had to cut the CAI to get it to fit, the MAF end was too long.
TAKE THAT, MERV!!!
