Default 6.0L Questions

I might be getting a 2003 Silverado 2500 6.0L engine soon, for my 1981 Camaro. My questions are is it a LQ4? Also, Could I put a 6 speed manual trans behind it? Any help would be appreicated.

Yeah I believe that should be an LQ4 motor. You shouldn't have a problem putting a 6-speed tranny behind it. Be sure to confirm the flange thickness on the rear of the crank!

Ok. I didn't know there is a difference in flange thicknesses? Is there one better than the other, what is common/

Thanks, Ryan

Yea it's an LQ4. With yours being a 2003 it may have a Spacer..you will know it when you see it, just take it off. The stock Crank on a LS Engine should come out of the back of the Rear Main Seal just a hair..so if you see a piece on there that sticks out about 1/2" and it has a seam..that's the spacer.

A LS1 T56 & any LS Clutch kit will go on the back of that without issue.

Ok, I will do that if I get this engine. Know anyone making engine mounts for a LS engine to go in a Sec Gen Camaro with stock subframe?

Thanks
