Default duals

if i install some texas speed true duals myself without tuning it what problems should i expect? can i drive my 98 camaro with them installed and no tune? or shuld i jus wait until i have purchased more mods (ls6 intake, cam possibly, gears etc..) then install them all at once then get a tune? i just want to get this modding process started. help a newb out

Do you have LT headers? I'm assuming you do have LT's. It may run a little rich or lean if you install them with no tune. You should be fine. If your really wanting to install them then go ahead and install them but you may get the SES light. If that's not a big deal for you go install them and wait til the Intake, gears, cam, etc. Then get it dyno tuned and that should really wake up the car. But when you tune the car, if it's tuned properly then you will get the full potiental of everything.

You shouldn't have any problems other than the SES light being on for the rear O2 sensors. You can have it turned off when you get the car tuned. It shouldn't hurt the performance in the mean time.

i dont have them yet but they are coming soon, but yeah i realize that longtubes are required for this system. as far as tuning goes, would you guys reccomend waiting for the other mods and then dyno or jus buying a tuner and doin it myself. jus curious what the majority of people do out there?

What other mods do you plan on doing?

Be prepared to sacrifice ground clearance..lol

I have the Summit 3" X-pipe kit on mine..

I have the tsp duals with there headers and no tune let, mine runs a little rich, ok really rich, but makes good flames with the 2 step haha

if you don't plan on doing anything major past the LTs and such for a while then go for a mail-order tune, you'll get more out of the headers plus get those pesky codes deleted... i jus finished installing TDs with LTs and thats what i'm looking toward

Well you can have duals and decent clearence. Flip the fuel lines, or make adj. it as much as you can or try and push it up as close as you can to the body.
