Line lock with 6 speed
Im looking at picking up an ABS delete kit from SJM and one of the options is a line lock. I have a 6 speed but im wondering if this would be of any benefit to me, and I know what it does. I have no experience using a line lock or racing with a manual. Thanks

Whether you have a 6 spd. or auto, using a line lock is the only way you can keep the car stationary when you're cleaning your tires off or heating them up without damaging your brakes/calipers/rotors and adding additional stress to your driveline.
If you don't use a line lock, the only other options are stomp on the gas pedal but you'll move forward and have little control over it...or power-brake and wear your pads and risk warping your rotors.
The kits can be purchased without a line lock but those kits are realistically meant for the guys who already have one so they don't need to repurchase a component they already own.

I've got a line-loc installed on my M6 car. It makes doing 2nd gear burn-outs easy. I wasn't getting enough tire speed in first to really heat them up. Now I pull throught the woter box, pump the brakes twice, hold the pedal, set the line loc, and proceed to roast the **** out of the tires.
This will also keep the clutch from heating up as much during the burn out because you aren't fighting the rear brakes.
