Best Aftermarket WS6 Hood
What brands do you guys have that you have had good experiences with? I would like a hood that is going to be just a paint and bolt on job. I don't want to have to pay my bodyshop extra to fit the hood to the car to make the lines match up.
How do these hoods hold-up? I was told they would break into a million pieces at a 5mph fender bender? Can you lean or sit on these hoods without having to worry about them cracking?
The hood will be going on a flawless Pewter painted car. This color is great because it hides everything from dirt to dents to any other imperfections. Someone said I would have to get the front fenders and maybe even the bumper painted as well. Is that really necessary? The paint looks brand new. It is 25k miles, four years old with ALL city driving under 50mph.
Finally, my bodyshop quoted me a price of $390 to have the hood painted and installed. That sounds like a lot but it is guranteed perfection. What did you guys pay to have it done?

Phonics Monkey asap...
anyways..if the car is flawless and you won't settle for less than perfect, get the factory GM hood. I had an ASCD on my Formula..it was nice and had a nice agressive edge on the outsides of the bulges, but it was still..an aftermarket hood. IMO, Suncoast sucks..period. I have never heard very many positive stories when it comes to their WS6 hood plus they just plain look like ***. Go with the GM hood. <img border="0" alt="[Burnout]" title="" src="graemlins/burnout.gif" />

well... its a bitch to be honist with you man, i got SLP firehawk hood, and to but it on it over laped the ****** bumber and so they had to grind the bumer down so it would fit and then the latch didnt match up so they had to custom bent that too.. and i got the wole front end repainted, it ended up causting me $750 for the front on painted and hood put on. i was pissed cuz he first quoted me 500 or somethin, so in the end it looks frickin sweet and gives you HP but it's not cheap!!

Did you get a Firehawk hood, or just the SLP "Ram Air H.O." hood? I'm curious as to how you'd get a Firehawk hood seeing that SLP won't sell them without verificaion you have a Firehawk.
As a side note, SLP trims the front fascia when they do the Firehawk conversion to accomodate the new hood. Don't know if that is necessray on their aftermarket piece.
SLP Ram Air H.O. hood - not an endorsement, just a link.

i just recently had my suncoastcreation ws6 hood put on and i love it... paid $400 to get it painted and put on.. theres a minor gap but nothing noticeable unless u get REAL close to it. the bodyshop said the hood was in real good condition... heres a pic:
