Which clutch for my application?
I am about to put together a LS+t56 drivetrain for my Gn and need to knwo which clutch I should use.
Engine is going to be a stock 5.3 with LS6 cam and intake, 42Lb injectors, 67mm turbo setup running 8-10 PSI with methanol. I will be using a stock T56, and should plan on having max 450 to the rear wheels.
Would an LS7 clutch and flywheel suffice for what i need?

LS7 is a good clutch for that power if you plan on DD'in the car. Has a nice feel to it and it grips hard, but if this car will mainly be for racing you might want to consider a different clutch. The ls7 is significantly heavier than any of the aftermarket ls1 clutches and will rob some power.

I do plan on driving the car as much as possible...racing it at the track maybe once or twice a year tops.

LS7 is an excellent clutch, but like any OEM clutch, it won't like it if you really beat on it at the track.

The stock LS7 unit also uses an SAC-type ratcheting pressure-plate this has less clamp-load than most aftermarket options. The SAC mechanism can also misadjust which can cause issues with engagement and release. That being said I suggest a SPEC Stage 2+ for your output needs. It can easily handle daily driving duty and will perform well at the track too. We also offer steel and aluminum flywheels as well and I would be happy to talk over the specifics of each to insure that you get what you need (telelphone# below). Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!

Monster, I have about 600 miles on my level 3 with tick master. Now when I power shift into 2nd, the tires actually light up and the car goes side ways. I had the original 70K before the monster. Great customer service also from monster.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I have decided to go with a stock ls7 unit for now, seeing as my plans changed and the car won't have as much power as I originally thought. I will be upgrading to an aftermarket clutch when this one has had it's run. Thanks again
