Spec 3+ or RAM HD?
i realize that there is a post similar, but monster is the other competitor, and since i have a LT1 car monster isnt a option but i would really appreicate your advise!! thanks guys the car is a h/c/i and should make roughly 400 at the wheels, and i also have a 150 shot.. the car may see that track 7 times a year, it is basically a street car.. i have a Centerforce df but they dont make just disks so i wont be buying another..

Ok...so I am biased but I am also more than happy to provide you with answers relative to any specific questions you may have relating to our Stage 3+. Ultimately I think a great number of LT1 guys would agree that it is a fantastic option that provides great drivability and plenty of capacity for your needs. That being said, let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!

I would go for the spec no questions asked. My Ram powergrip hd didn't hold any power from my stroker it only had 2000 miles on it. It held fine with just bolt ons but no real power. I put in a spec stage 4 and daily drive it and I couldnt be happier

I destroyed 2 SPEC stage 3s and finally had Rapid Motorsports install a RAM 6130 VDS and have never looked back! My first SPEC stage 3 carbons clutch disk fuzed to the flywheel and the 2nd had multiple fingers break off the pressure plate and the springs in the disk broke too...and this was with only 375rwhp. This was back in 2002...I hope to god they changed their design because they were garbage back then.

bigj, thanks for the kind words and the support of our product! It's always appreciated when users share their experiences.
99, it seems that you feel burned by your history with our product and for that I apologize. Though I have no knowledge of your situation if you would like to provide you name I will happily look you up in the RMA system and see what I can find relative to your issues. If you have an RMA# you can provide that too. As you likely know clutches do not simply weld themselves to corresponding surfaces without cause. There has to be a reason for your issues and though it appears as though you are fine to simply blame the clutch I can assure you that a great many of the issues people have with clutches (no matter what the brand) are related to installation, break-in, flatness of surfaces used and even misuse. I am happy to discuss this with you further if you like. I can be reached at the number in my sig. Thanks,

I put a RAM in my 93 and didn't take it to the track until about a year after installation. All I have done to the car is full exhaust and some suspension upgrades. Well my first time to the track I launched from about 2800 RPM with drag radials and the clutch grabbed hard, but I guess too hard because by the time I hit the top of second, the clutch was slipping horribly. I let it cool down for about an hour and went for another run with the same result. I only had about 12,000 miles on it.
It still does fine with normal driving, but needless to say I am currently in the market for a Spec to get ready for the track this spring. Hopefully I have better luck with it..

Id go with a Spec 3+.... I had a powergrip HD and it worked ok for bolt ons and nitrous, got me into the 11's. But didnt take much more than 450 whp/wtq. Now my spec 3+ has already seen 620whp and 752rwtq.
