Default question 98 ls1 ecu and limits for 4l60e tuning

Hey guys,

I have a 2800 lb rx7 with an lq4 4l60e 2200 stall 4.10 gears...

It uses a 1998 fbod A4 ecu, what i've been told by a few people is that the ecu may go crazy if I have a certain sized cam or larger....I was thinking of an XER273HR14

I'd love to know if these are unsubstantiated claims, as I would think the tune/ecu aren't the issue, more so the stall, I'm new to autos.

I have an HP Tuners non pro vcm suite btw.

Thanks a bunch!

I'm running a Futral F-14 (234 dur / .600 lift) with a Fuddle 3600 stall converter in mine with no problems at all..........................

That's a pretty mild cam and converter so I wouldn't worry about it. However it will require the correct amount of tuning to get it to idle and drive correctly.

BTW - I run a much bigger cam and stall on the stock 98 PCM.

ended up with a xer273hr14, 224 230 .581 .589 114 lsa, worked perfect, idled great, even with ported heads, just had to tinker with idle and timing at first
