99-00 LQ4, 98+ 60E, & LT1 converter??
Okay i made the mistake of buying a 99-00 LQ4 with the larger crank snout to swap into my 2000 SS. Im wondering if its possible just to use an LT1 style torque converter and the 2000ss 4l60e behind the long snout LQ4 w/flat 6.0l flexplate? Ill have to use a truck starter im thinking but would this work? I would think that the only difference in the LS1 converter vs the LT1 converter is the fact that it is .4" larger to accomodate for the shorter crank position...
Anyone have any input? Below would be my planned setup....
99/00 LQ4--->6.OL Flat flexplate---->LT1 4L60E Converter----->98+ 4L60E

Here is the one I was talking about. Pretty sure you won't swap a crank for less than $375. https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversio...ent-4l60e.html
