Default burnt valve

How can you tell if you have a burnt valve? A couple of people told me that is what my problem is. My car started running really rough the other day while driving around town. I know its loading up on fuel really bad, but it feels like a very bad miss. Idle quality is very poor. Has anyone ever had a problem with a burnt valve?

Jim,

There a 3 things more likely to have happened than a burnt valve...

1) bent pushrod (if using stock pushrods)
2) bent valve
3) broken/weak valve spring

What valvetrain mods do you have (if any)? Have you had any over-revs recently?

I agree with Tim Sloper, burnt valves were usually from poor intake manifold fuel distribution, not a problem on LS1 motors.
