fuel line questions
I am thinking about using the nylon fuel line that can be used with dorman quick connects, but have a few questions first.
1. How hard is it to get the nylon fuel line on the fittings using the boiling method? I am not going to pay $250 for the kit with the tool, just way too much for a one time use.
2. Has anyone had a problem using these fuel lines in the engine bay area? Any failures do to heat, abrasion, ect?
3. I really like the factory fuel lines they use up to the fuel rails, kind of a braided rubber hose? Is there a place to buy these, or is it just cheaper to do stainless braided hose?
4. Would it be "safer" to use aluminum tubing with nuts and sleeves and only use stainless going from sump to fuel filter, and from aluminum line in engine bay to fuel rail?
