Suspension Mods to Handle 500rwhp?
Hey everyone! So my 98 z28 has 138k miles, and i imagine i'd be getting a new engine in the near future. I'm hoping for this future engine to have at least 400rwhp. And i imagine throughout its life i'd give it some upgrades, so lets say it will someday have 500rwhp. So, i need my camaro's suspension to be able to handle the power. Right now i have a pretty much stock suspension. I have koni single adjustable shocks up front, non-adjustable bilsteins in the back, and some thicker sway bars, thats it.
So, i'd like to start making my suspension parts list, what can you all tell me? Also, i'm a college kid, so i'm not trying to get most expensive stuff, but i'm also not going to cheap out, that will end up bad.

Are you planing to use this on the track or the street? But with 500rwhp I would say at least get a TA and trans crossmember to move the TA mount off the transmission.

Hello
To help contain a 500 RWHP beast. I would suggest looking into a set of new lower control arms. And a adjustable torque arm to allow you set the pinion angle. And I take it that it's going to see a lot of street time and I would highly suggest to relocation cross member to get the arm off of the rear of the transmission. So you don't have any issues with breaking the tail shaft. And a set of SFC's to help with not only weight transfer but also help keep the body solid. Below is a link to show you what all UMI Performance has to offer!

If you have any other questions feel free to ask.
Thanks

You can't just set a power goal, look at the suspension and quickly say "Okay...I need to replace A, B, and C." It just doesn't work that way. You need to make a list of the known shortcomings (and YOU have to make that list), and then you can go about trying to shore them up.
For example...if you have bad wheel hop, that might require a couple different things (lower control arms would be a good place to start). If you want to lower the car, that might require other things (like an adjustable panhard rod and an adjustable torque arm).
So what is the suspension doing that you don't want it to?

As for the suspension now...i have no problems with it...i just want the ideal setup in advance for more hp later.
This car is going to be a DD, and occasional autocrosser. But i want to have 500 rwhp eventually for the street use
