most rare color on a ws6?
what is it? I was just curious what is the most rare color on a ls1 ws6 trans am? Did they make a ws6 in purple or just a ta? I couldn't find color break downs on all years and colors so if you know please let me know.

To the guy that started the topic--I don't follow Firebirds at all, but I know the answer anyway. It's going to be bright purple metallic or bright blue metallic. I don't know the pontiac names for the paint colors, I believe they're the same.
For reference, these are the colors I'm speaking about.
Sport gold metallic will be one of the next rarest along with bright green metallic, etc.

When talking about the rarest color on a 4th gen WS6, hands down no contest is bright purple metallic. They made between 9-12 of them early in the 98 model year. ASC had issues with the paint sticking to the hood and GM tried to recall these cars but most of them had already been sold. This is why even with 100K miles you see them selling for a LOT of money. A distant second place would be Sport gold metallic.
The bright blue (gumball) metallic was NEVER painted on a real WS6. The following colors were the only ones offered on a 4th gen WS6
96-97:
red
white
silver
black
forrest green
98-02 (some colors listed below were only available in certain years)
purple
gold
red
white
silver
black
SOM
yellow
navy blue

Purple would be the winner. They only produced 6 WS6 six-speed Trans Ams in '98 using the Purple color (before the color was discontinued due to problems at the plant).
I know the owner of one of those six produced. He even has vanity plates that say "1 of 6"....or at least he did at one time.

Bright Purple Metallic, Bright Blue Metallic, and Gold Sport are the rarest colors for LS1 TA's.
1997 and 1998 were great years for fbody colors.
For Camaro colors, this site is pretty good: http://sites.google.com/site/branget...olorproduction
