Mustang 5.0 wins first comparo against Camaro SS, Challenger SRT8

In our first drive, we were very impressed with the new GT's antics, and apparently, we aren't the only ones. Sorry, Camaro and Challenger – the Mustang takes top honors in this comparison.
Motor Trend points out that, at the end of the day, the Mustang 5.0 is the closest representation of what a modern day muscle car should be. It stands true to the original concept of a lightweight coupe with a nimble body and chassis that's stocked to the brim with rumbling V8 power, and they say that there's no doubt that it's dynamically better than the Chevy and Dodge. What's more, the interior offers better tech and refinement – something that's key in the year 2010. Be sure to click over to MT's comparison test for the full details.

If they'll up the anny with the LS3 then they'll scoop up the mustang. How cam they totally turn around and say the mustang blows the chevy and dodge out of the competition when Camaro came out they said that about the camaro. Really the only thing changed is the motor in the mustang. So I guess that turned it into a 30 some odd thousand dollar bentley that's just some kind of miraculous steal

i really hate to say it, but ford got their **** together. I thought GM had also, and they are much b etter than they used to be, but jus tbeing better isnt good enough, they have to be better than their competition.
Did ford leave the solid rear axel in the rustang still? that was the number 1 complaint from magazines about the stang last year.
im thinking that GM should offer a z28 again, but rather than the S/Ced one they talked about, it should be like the good ole days, a light weight, stripped down, track model. give it a solid rear with 4:10 gears, LS3 (manual only), and maybe light weight interior parts like racing seats and no carpet. it wouldnt harm the mpg, in fact it should be better due to less weight.

i'm very impressed with the new mustang.. but I wanna see what happens when your regular guy wants to go with more then just bolts-ons on it.... $380 for 1 cam new 302 5.0 has 4 cams thats 1520 just on cams i can imagine buying a whole valve-tran set up for the 5 valves per cylinder an plus its runnin 11.0 to 1 compression so your pushin 91 octane with really anymore then that good car good engine but i dont see it being cheap to hop up at all but i guess ford drives are used to spending tons of money to make there **** fast so dropping a grand for cams might not seem that high..... I still prefer 1 cam an pushrods

you can't compare them with those kind of arguments because it will never end...
Should just be 2 cars, stock from the factory, lined up and compare A to B... THE END
THEN.... you bitch out the automaker of the lower rated of the two cars for making a POS and get them to make one that tops it's predecessors
