Mushy pedal
Finally got my car running go to test drive it and when i go to pull out 1st gear grinds bad,go to 2nd and the clutch is so mushy its already almost to the floor.
While in neutral the pedal feels fine, I think this means there is air in the master or slave?? idk which one is which?? ....if thats the case i think that means i have to bleed the clutch, how do i do that??

2.open bleeder screw until fluid stream slows
3.close screw then release pedal
4.top off fluid

Your best bet to bleed is to pickup a Mityvac at your local kragen or pepboys. Mine cost 30 bucks and makes bleeding 100% easier. Follow these instructions. http://performanceworks1.com/ls1_clutch_bleeding.htm

i used the mityvac, only saw A bubble. It helped a little...do i just need to keep doing it even though it was pulling up just fluid? this is how i did it: Put nozzle in hole...get it up to 12 hg....pump clutch. After i was done the pedal was even softer than before until i pumped the pedal like 30 times with the reservoir cap off.

Mine did the same exact thing when I bled it. When that much air keeps coming out there is air getting into the hydraulic system somewhere. It could be the master but more than likey it's either the slave or a clutch/pressure plate problem. If you have the money it's best to start with the Tick M/C. If you are on a tight budget then get a factory M/C and see if that fixes the problem. If it still persists after the the new M/C then it's time to drop the trans and see whats going on under there.
Here is a great write up on how to fix the problem.
