Here check out this thread and take from it what you will...

Don't be afraid to use the Search function. My search resulted in quite a few threads on this topic, so there's a whole lot more info out there. You just gotta look.

Ive already checked it out, but what im talking about is the opening of the lower airbox, like where the clips are attatched, triming it to be a 2 inch opening like the ws6 instead of a 1 inch

Ah... I see...

I guess I haven't ever read anything on here about anyone modifying the opening, other than sealing it to the hood, but that doesn't mean it hasn't been done.

Good luck, man.

I can't see it being very effective as all you will be doing is exposing the corner of the air filter which doesn't really flow much air. Better than cutting your air box, you should remove the baffles in your WS6 hood and add washers underneath the lower air box to raise it.

Here we go pic's are up

First is looking at the front it two times as wide at the opening now
[IMG][/IMG]

Another view from the side
[IMG][/IMG]

Looking down at the top with itout of the car so you can see the triming done
[IMG][/IMG]

I reinforced the piece across the front that holds the clips so it would not bend and cause sealing problems, I used J-B weld and a strip of alum, been like that for two years no problems
[IMG][/IMG]

I sealed the top of the rad with a thin sheet of plastic with reflective tape on the under side to keep hot air out of the air box.

I doubled the size of the hood openings

How about the ruber piece in this pic? does it help seal to the hood?

You guys do know most of the air comes up from underneath the car right? That's why you get the Chris1313 ram air or make you something like it. I did cut mine though, but I've also got the SSRA, so I've got air coming in from both ways.

i wouldn't waste the time to do that, as you can see in the pics that the element is still in the way, restricting the opening...the best was to do it let it breathe from below or is a camaro from the front holes in the bumper...you are not taking advantage of the ram air effect...

check out my ram air, sux2bu ram air, ftra, or ssra...
