Question 1998 Z28 front springs swap or shop??

i am in the process of changing out my worn out front springs on my stock '98 z.my brother is giving me his front coils, off his '01 ss w/ only 4k miles on them..here's what i noticed, and also measured, that my '98 coils are MUCH thicker than the '01 ss's!why is this?will they still fit my '98,and if so,what type of ride height should i expect?why the differance in thickness, and what effect will it have on ride quality,stiffness,etc..thanks for the help A.GREEN

I don't for sure but you are positive they are the front springs and not the rear springs? That's the first thing that popped in my mind. Hope someone else chimes in for you

First, what makes you think your springs are "worn out"? Springs are not really a wear and tear item, and will last for a very long time...
Next find out if you have the 1Le suspension package (RPO codes on drivers door, if one of the codes is "1LE" then you have it.
And Ive read that the springs from 98 and 99 cars are slightly different than the 00-02 cars, but not enough to make much of a difference.

X2^^^, I hope they are not the stock shocks. I have had a couple of 4th gen's and everytime I was replacing my stock springs for lowering springs the nut on the shocks were rusted up and I had to cut them off. I would have just thrown it all away but I needed the dust cover, spring cup, top mount etc. good luck though.
