foxbody starter wire issues
Im trying to get some of wiring finished up on my car. I have run into a problem with wiring the starter up. I got power to the car and everything still works. I just cant get the car to turn over with the ignition (key). I ran the main wire (yellow wire) to the battery terminal on the starter and the little red with blue stripe wire to the small terminal on the starter. I can wire the starter straight to the battery and it will turn over just wont turn over with key. BTW the car was running when I pulled the 4 cylinder out of it. What can I do cause I am a little slow when it comes to wiring?
thanks
thanks

was it a standard?... did you by pass all the neutral safety switches... i just tapped right into my ignition switch for mine and ran it to a relay... let the relay carry the solenoid load because for ignition switches are FTL

or i found out on my last swap there is a wire harness under your driver side kick panel that has the wire you need to tap into... you'll need a schematic or just pull the red with a green stripe wire through your fire wall and follow it.

ya there is a set of wires but they should be looped already under your carpet and into your tunnel... just gonna have to do it the hard way and start pull that wire through your firewall.... from under dash from kick panel, from undercarpet, back up to dash for clutch switch and back to ignition

i would probably just go to your ignition switch with a test light and figure out which wire lites up when you crank it... then splice into that wire with a new wire and run it to the starter

well I figured it out finally thanks to 6.0 mustang. I just tapped into one of the wires off the ignition. My wiring skills suck badly, I got wire everywhere and now gotta figure out how to keep the wires off the headers.
