B&M owners ... inside please
Installed a B&M shifter today in my 06 V.
The attachment ball is almost twice the distance from the pivot point as the stocker. Consequently, the throw is amazingly short.
But ...
There is a LOT of resistance of movement fore and aft. I capitalized the word "LOT" because there is a LOT of resistance.
My first course of action will be to loosen the attachment bolt. This HAS to be the point of most resistance.
But ...
Its just a bolt and not a nylock. And there isn't enough exposed thread to double nut it. Things loosen and shake and disappear at the most inopportune time.
And ...
Does it bother any one else that the shifter pivots on a threaded bolt and not a smooth pin? If I can find a pin with close enough tolerance, I'm going to thread the end of it to a point and bottom the nut against the pin flange.

It's that attachment bolt...if you tighten it too much the shifter will be very hard to move. If you loosen it just a bit it will make a world of difference.
It has been two years since I installed mine, but I really feel like mine had a nylock bolt. Either way it hasn't fallen off yet...
