Swapping in N2O for a blower...
What's up everybody.
I've been running a supercharger setup on my LT1 for a while now, Vortech S-Trim 9PSI, with fully forged internals- 9.5:1 pistons, crank, c-rods, clevite bearings, etc... fuel pump and injectors are upgraded. i'm running a 214/222 .488/.509 112LSA crane cam, HI-6S ignition, full exhaust, etc
I was wondering, if I were to take the blower off and sell that and the tubing, buy a CAI (and change belts, etc), what else would I need to change to run N2O? How high of a shot would my blower-built internals be able to handle? I don't know much about nitrous, but I'm pretty sure that a higher compression ratio would be better... correct?
If I can get enough money out of that, I'd like to swap my edelbroch midlengths for some hooker LTs, a higher stall TC, heads, and an N2O system.
Help me out a lil, add some thoughts on what else I'd wanna change. Thanks for the feedback.

Sounds like you'd be setup for a good dose of N2O..Im not sure how much, but that sounds like a good idea selling your FI and getting LTs, stall, and heads..Plus its more difficult to tune with FI...But, I beleive this is a great idea...
Good Luck

Im 16, so I am by far no expert, but from what I've read you should be able to. Have fun and good luck.
Maybe one day you'll have enough power to take my escort...
Good luck Jon..Later

AACCKKK!
Super Mario you have nitrous in your blood, and a gas tank for a brain. Did I say that?
With the lower compression you could run a health dose of nitrous. Ever consider having the heads shaved so you could get your compression ratio up a few points? I would also go with a nice nitrous friendly bumpstick.

Just wondering.
Why dump the S/C for juice? The blower is there all the time and the bottle does have to be filled. But you are talking a 200 hp shot vs a 100 hp blower.......maybe I just answered my qestion......

keep the blower, add nitrous......
yes i'm nuts, yes I would do that, I mean, have done that..... hehe
if it were me, I would run a independent fuel system, and run high octane the nitrous fuel supply, and ditch the midlenths for some LTs! gotta have a good breathing exhaust.... just keep an eye on your A/F and you are good to go.

i agree. you already have the blower. just buy a nice little 100-150 dry shot on top of it. nitrous works well with a blower since they both like the same type of cam and love a free flowing exhaust. since you have a centrifugal blower you could shoot out of the hole and decide what you want to do from there. you could keep it going for the extra power up top or shut it off and let the blower take over the power making. and since you already have all the parts for the blower and probably have it tuned for the blower i would just leave it on.
why do you want to switch to nitrous anyway? i have an NXL that im thinking about selling. if im not totally in need of getting rid of it though so it wouldnt be that much cheaper than new.
personally i would rather have the blower but nitrous is cheaper to get started with.
