Racetronix FP harness with Boost-a-pump
Is there a way to wire up a boost-a-pump (KB, etc) using the Ractronix harness, and only have the boost-a-pump come on under boost using a Hobbs switch?
I have twin 255's in the tank and the Racetronix harness right now. I'm adding the boost a pump but I don't want the pumps running at 18v or whatever all the time. I just want it to work under boost. If I just unplug the Racetronix harness connectors at the back of the car the fuel pump does not run. That tells me that if I were to wire up the boost a pump like they want you to I won't be able to run the boost a pump only under boost, it would have to be on all the time.
Am I over thinking this?
To sum it up, I want to run the pump at normal voltage with the racetronix harness most of the time, but when I go under boost I want the boost a pump to come on and supply the pumps with 18v. I've had the racetronix harness on the car for several years now, just want to add a boost-referenced boost a pump to the mix.

- The Racetronix single harness is not designed to properly power and protect two in-tank pumps.
- The PBIC interface is specifically designed to interface a BAP. You can review the specifics of this connector in our web ad here: http://www.racetronix.biz/itemdesc.a...WH-001&eq=&Tp=
- Even if you have the high-current version of the KB BAP it is questionable as to whether it will support two pumps reliably.
- A properly configured dual in-tank system built by Lonnie can support over 1000HP. Why do you need to add a BAP?

All in-tank wiring must be Teflon.
All the lines in your car must be converted to Teflon and / or Nylon.
You can not have ANY rubber left in your fuel system.

This is impressive but still well beyond the recommended HP level for our single in-tank system. Although some people take pride in how far they can push things and get away with it Racetronix can not condone this practice. There must be a good safety margin between what the motor needs and what the fuel system can supply under worst-case scenarios. People reading this post must understand that not every build can reach this HP number. At 58PSI we recommend apx. 600 FWHP FI and 650 FWHP NA as the maximum safe limits. These numbers will change depending on the motor's BSFC, desired WOT A/F, parasitic loads, operating temps, vehicle voltage etc.

No not exactly.
That was my question. Forget that I said I have 2 pumps in the tank. Say I only have only one (like in my wife's 02 WS6). I'd like to use a boost (Hobbs) switch to activate the BAP. I know how to wire in the hobbs switch, and I know about the connectors in your harness. But if I wire it like they way it's said to do it, the BAP has to be active all the time for the pump to run, right? If the BAP is not on, the pump will not run--just like if you were to just disconnect the connectors in the harness. Am I right or wrong?
I'd like the pump to run like normal under normal conditions, then when the engine goes into boost I'd like the BAP to come on and supply the pump with 16-18 volts (whatever the case may be). IS THIS POSSIBLE?

ive looked at basically every every fuel pump option out there, and the edelbrocks are the cheapest alcohol compatible pump that you wont have to run a controller on to avoid overheating the fuel during street driving. all the other alcohol compatible pumps (weldon, magnafuel, etc) are meant for the "big boys" making 1500+.
