QTP 13/4 to Kook 17/8 info
The only thing I did was switch from 13/4 to 17/8. This was in prep for dropping my stoker in.
I expected no noticable change on the stock 346 with 130,000 miles.
ReV Extreme TB, undrive and a tune from EFI-Alchemy.
Thanks Doc,
360 HP , 375 TQ.
I was surprised, the car really sounded louder and rev'd out better.
The rpm's seemed to build more effortlessly (sound wise).
I there was quite a bit less flow noise coming from the engine/header area.
Seat of the pants I would definitely say there was an improvement.
Sorry no dyno info.
BUT nothing good ever comes without a proportional amount
BULLSHIT!
It is a also louder but worse that F'ing drone is back!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHH!
I never would have imagined that stepping up on the stock motor to 17/8 would have produced these results.

Fwiw we went from QTP 1 3/4" x 3" collector to ARH 1 7/8" with a 3.5" merge collector and gained no hp on a 439 rwhp h/c car. Identical. It will help so we were told by ARH when you eclipse 500rwhp, which is why I bought them. Both runs Back to back, on the dyno, changed them on the dyno lift between runs.

That was what I expected.

I put them on in preps for the stroker LS3 417, 11.1-1, PAT.G Cam +(Geoff Skinner) cam, Vengence FAST92/NW92.
Fact, It is a noticeable louder note, the engine revs out differently (I can't make HP etc claims) seat of the pants.
If it didn't sound exhaust flow (engine area) and exhaust post muffler louder I would not of posted as too avoid the back and forth on something I couldn't prove or had empirical data.
Note! your situation was significantly better as you had back to back dyno's.
but that being said, other factors besides the headers could be a reason why your results seem to match expected and mine didn't. Mine both had 3" collectors and go into the QTP 3 ORYwith a Flowmaster merge collector.
Again, I expect if anything to move the torque curve to the right and for all practical purposes lose a some HP.
