quick question about the EGR

quick question about the EGR if im running race ready headers with no provisions .. can i take the whole egr valve off and or do i have to leave the valve on or do i just block the the other tube on the backside of the intake manifold

alright cause i just had one block off plate and it wasnt for the egr valve.. it was for the one on the opposite side.. I think it was like a metal hose.. ..which i cut off and welded shut.
