Help with Ford 9" center selection
Heres background on my car. I have an 00 Trans Am that is turboed. Im putting down 500whp, possibly up to 550 in the near future. Im not doing huge clutch drops are anything like that.
Im dead set on a housing and axles already(31 spline) and I want some sort of Posi to go with it. Im going to go with a Nodular case for sure, trying to decide between a Tru Trak and a Trak Lok posi. Also what would I need to beef up to make it handle 550whp? Im told daytona pinion supports are a must. What else? Thanks in advance.

From what I've read the Detroid Tru Trac is the better of the two,and supposed to be decent in a manual up to 600 HP. Its available in 31 spline so it would probably be your best option.
Alot of guys have had issues with them tho, so if you hit the track alot you may want to consider a spool or upgrading to 35 spline axles and a wave trac.

Ya I PMed MWC about a 35 spline w/wavetrac to find out how much it is, well see. Tru trac sounds good w/31 splines. Wondering what else I should ask to have done to the center section though. Like pinion support and such.

basic rule of thumb here is if you select the Truetrac diff then the forged aluminum "daytona" style support we use and 1350 yoke is plenty strong. but... for only 65.00 more we can get you into the upgrade setup(support and yoke) that is made for pro gears with much larger bearings.

lol, I'll bet you do with the power you have a spool is a good way to go. Bob
