Exclamation Need help with cooling system.

i just got my 5.3 running in my 92 chev truck. i cant get the thing to take coolant. i filled the radiator and ran it till it started to get hot and it wont take any coolant. what could be my problem?

it's got to get a little hot to open the stat. run it a little longer also throttle it up a little to help circulate the coolant threw the engine.

Drain some out of the radiator, so you can take the stat housing off. Then fill again until you have coolant showing where the stat goes. Put the stat and housing back on. Then fill the rest of the way.
You may not have coolant up to the level of the stat in the block.
