Question C5 auto to Manual

Long story short I read the thread to do the change over in the F-body, but how applicable is this to C5 Corvettes. Engines I know transmissions to me are like walking on Mars. The shop who I usually get to use informed me that when it comes to a C5 the only real way is to get this conversion done correctly is to buy a ZO6 pcm or a manual PCM from another C5.

Any helpful input is welcomed.

I was curious if you ever got any additional information on doing this conversion?

It's not bad very straight forward. You need the 6 speed torque tube and the transmission. If you can get the bracket for the clutch and the pedal it will bolt right up to the automatic pedals. The clutch and brake are very close together so cheap route would be to cut the brake pedal or replace it with a brake pedal from a manual. As for the computer leave the auto shift selector plugged in and it will work like normal with the exception of the reverse lights or have the computer flashed. You will have to wire in the reverse lights anyway.
