All the horror stories about the 4l60e and 10 bolt breaking so easy and lots of us just decide to throw a high stall tc+tires on the car. I dont have a high stall yet but I will soon. One thing I hear alot is "after my stall street tires are worthless!" well I have to tell ya..my street tires are worthless on my car without a higher stall! Honestly if I had sticky tires on my car as is I think the 10 bolt would have been toast! I guess ill find out soon enough how well this is gonna hold up

I am not saying saying that a higher stall and a factory 10 bolt is a good idea.. But, as long as your driving normal you should be fine..
Now when your on the gas and you do get high into the power band and you start to hook.. thats when you start breaking things..
Hard launches from a dig on some stickier tires put an outrageous amount of stress on the rear end components.. and metal doesn't resist twisting soo good.. or the metal teeth start snapping off.

Yeah true but how often do you NOT have to go to the parts store when your doing something. Most of the time you ALWAYS have to make a trip for one reason or another. I've learned not to get my hopes up about something not going wrong even if I do it 100% right.

So im drivin the car yesterday and Im thinking about how guys say they spin the tires at 50mph with a stall. I noticed I can spin out at 40-50 without a stall. Nuts!

Breaking your 10 bolt and tearing up your trans are good excuses to buy built ones. You can get enough passes out of your stock parts to enjoy having a big stall before they finally give out.

Street tires will not be useful AT ALL . Even my 315 35 17 nittos have a hard time getting traction in 1st gear when theyre not hot with my 4000 stall . Other than that ,they have doing just fine . If you beat the hell out out of something day in and day out ,it will eventually break . If you drive normal with the occasional beating at the track or on the street ,you should be fine .If your spinning at 40 -50mph w/o a stall ,,you tires SUCK !!! Unless you have a lot of RWHP .

I put a stall into my stock trans at 50K... it died a month later. Then with an FLT trans and a cheap stall. the Stall crapped out 2 months later and took the trans with it. then I got a Vig 3600 and FLT rebuilt the trans.. it lasted 60K of driving in all weather (yes snow as well), long trips, drag strip runs, heavy traffic, and other stupidity driving 40 miles a day back and forth to work in Chicago before the trans died. I had it rebuilt and the stall cut and clean and if it lasts another 60K I'll be happy.. Personally though I'd not put a stall on a stock trans.
