Default good news and bad news...

Well I took the car to the tuner last Monday. He's a friend so I just left the car there and said just when you have time, let me know when she's ready. He had a few problems with my computer, might be caused because I moved the computer from the engine bay to behind the dash, but I'm not 100% sure.

So, he was finally able to get through the beginning of this week and able to street tune and then slap it on the dyno. It's got a pretty significant stumble around 4800 and then he said it died around 6500. This is a high end cam so it should be revving to around 7k. Unfortunately the jerking and missing was so substantial on the dyno he decided to play it safe and take it to about 6500.

Even with going to 6500 it made 408hp and 383tq. Although I was hoping for 10-15 more, I think if I fix the ignition problem and redyno in cooler weather (it was around 100* when he dynoed) I'll see the numbers I want.

I must say overall I'm quite happy with the way it turned out. The car pulls like a freight train and I'm loving every second. Not bad for a 355ci LT1!

Here's the graph:

Those are solid numbers (gorgeous car too). Let us know when you go back after fixing the ignition problems. I'm guessing you were running street tires on those runs? How was traction ?

Thanks man. Actually I was running bald *** MTs. The first two runs I forgot to let the tire pressure down so I was running anywhere from 25-27psi. Right before the last run I checked and lowered it to 20psi.

Those are really stout numbers. What heads and intake are on the car ? I suspect if your figure out your ignition problems and put a set of bigs/littles on the car you will run some super strong numbers.

Not bad at all but expected better MPH with those numbers. MPH is good for high 11s though

The heads are stock 93 casting decked, ported, bigger SS Ferra valves and a 5 angle valve job. I hope to figure out what the problem is, from the video you can't tell but it was breakin up pretty good about half track and then on the big end as well.

Yea, the DA was around 3400 last night and I'm still learning how to launch and drive the car with the new setup. When it was down, along with the new engine setup I resurfaced my flywheel and put in a spec stage 3. I must say I'm not necessarily diggin the clutch but atleast it doesn't slip like a cheap hooker, like my old one did...

I'm going to the 1/8th tonight to work on some launches. I'm terrified to break something but if it breaks...oh well, just means time to upgrade.

Better DA will get you a couple mph, get that ignition fixed and spin it higher and it will be about where it should be. Whats wrong with the spec too grabby?

Yea the spec is just on or off. It's real grabby and I guess I'm just not used to it but I have driven my bosses car and it has a RAM HD and it's freakin BUTTA...I love it.
